🔫 Weapon Licenses​

In the state of San Andreas, carrying a firearm without a valid license is illegal. To legally carry Class 1 firearms, all citizens must complete the state's official Weapon Licensing Process. This system is fully automated and designed to promote responsible gun ownership and public safety.

✅ What a Weapon License Allows​

  • Legal ownership and carry of Class 1 firearms
  • Protection from weapons charges when carrying in compliance with state laws
  • Access to legal firearm purchases (as permitted by vendors)

⚠️ Note: This license only applies to Class 1 weapons. Possession of Class 2 or Class 3 firearms remains a felony offense unless specifically authorized by law.

📝 How to Apply​

  1. Go to Any Police Department
    • Visit the front desk at any police station across the state.
    • Use your Third Eye (hold Left ALT, then right click) to interact with the front desk and open the licensing menu.
  2. Begin the Weapon License Application
    • The system will walk you through the entire process.
    • A small processing fee is required to apply.
  3. Review the Study Guide
    • You'll be given access to a comprehensive study guide covering:
      • Firearm safety
      • Legal carrying practices
      • Weapon handling and storage
      • Consequences of violations
    • Everything you need to pass the test is in the guide, so study carefully!
  4. Complete the Automated Background Check
    • The system will automatically scan your record.
    • Applicants with felony convictions will be denied.
  5. Take the Safety & Knowledge Test
    • Answer a short series of multiple-choice questions based on the study guide.
    • If you fail 3 times, you may retry after a brief cooldown period.
  6. Pick Up Your License at City Hall
    • Once you pass the test and background check, your license will be ready for pickup.
    • Go to City Hall to collect your Weapon License. It appears as a physical inventory item.

📌 Important Reminders​

  • You must have the license item on your person whenever you are in possession of a firearm.
  • Law enforcement may ask to see your license at any time if you are found with a weapon.
  • Licenses do not expire, but they can be revoked if you are convicted of certain crimes, such as violent felonies or weapons violations.
  • Carrying a firearm without a license is a criminal offense and may lead to arrest or fines.
