Legacy or Enhancedâ
Escape Arena runs on both versions of FiveM: FiveM Enhanced and the original FiveM Legacy. It is the same arena on each, with the same modes, maps, rules and Discord, so you can play on whichever you have installed. How to Play has the join link for each.
How the two versions differ:
- What you need installed. The Enhanced version needs the FiveM Enhanced client and GTA V Enhanced. The Legacy version runs on regular FiveM and GTA V Legacy, which is what most people already have.
- Tick rate. The Enhanced version runs at 120 tick. The Legacy version runs at 40.
- Graphics mods on Enhanced. FiveM Enhanced runs with pure mode permanently on, so shader and visual packs do not load on the Enhanced version. That is a platform limit, not a server rule.
- Mods on Legacy. The Legacy version currently allows client mods, so sound packs, tracers, visual packs and ReShade all work there. That is the policy for now rather than a promise: if modified game files start being used to cheat, it may tighten so that only sound mods, ReShade and a few graphics packs approved by Cfx keep working. The Arena Rules on cheating apply on both versions.
- Early access. FiveM Enhanced is still in early access, so the Enhanced version can have rough edges that are the platform's rather than ours.
They are separate servers. You can only play with people on the same version as you, and each version has its own ranked ladder, so your rating on one does not carry over to the other.
