âī¸ How to Play
Escape Arena is a PvP server. You spawn in a lobby, queue for a match, fight it out, and land back in the lobby. Customize your character however you like, but there is nothing to grind between matches. If you would rather not queue for anything, freeroam is open the whole time.
Joiningâ
Escape Arena runs on both versions of FiveM, so use the join link for the one you have installed:
- Escape Arena Enhanced join link, for the FiveM Enhanced client and GTA V Enhanced.
- Escape Arena Legacy join link, for regular FiveM and GTA V Legacy.
Either link opens the server in FiveM. Escape Arena is also on the FiveM server list if you would rather search for it. See Legacy or Enhanced for how the two versions differ.
The first time you joinâ
Before you reach the lobby the arena asks you for a display name. That is the name other players see on the scoreboard, the killfeed and the leaderboard, so it is worth a moment's thought: it has to be 3 to 20 characters, letters, numbers and underscores only, and nobody else can already have it. If the one you want is taken you will be asked again.
After that you go through character creation, and then you are in the lobby. Returning players skip straight past both.
The lobbyâ
Everything starts in the lobby. Three people are standing there, and you talk to any of them by
walking up and pressing E:
| Ped | What it does |
|---|---|
| Arena Matchmaking | Opens the arena menu so you can queue |
| Freeroam | Drops you into the freeroam practice area |
| Change Appearance | Full appearance editor and outfit management |
The podium next to them shows the current top five by rating.
The arena menuâ
Press F1 (or type /arena) anywhere to open the menu. It has six pages:
| Page | What it does |
|---|---|
| Arena | Pick a mode and queue |
| Party | Invite people and queue as a group |
| Stats | Your own record |
| Leaderboard | Server rankings |
| Friends | Add, accept, remove |
| Settings | Your client options |
Each page has its own shortcut command, so /stats, /party, /leaderboard, /friends and
/settings jump straight there. ESC closes the menu.
Getting into a matchâ
- Open the Arena page and pick a mode. See Game Modes for what each one is.
- Queue. Unranked queues match first-in-first-out, so it is only waiting for enough players.
- When the match is found there is a 5 second countdown, then you are in.
Unranked matches skip the ready check entirely and load you straight in. Ranked uses a ready check, so everyone confirms before the match starts.
Hold TAB during a match to see the scoreboard. When the match ends you are returned to the lobby
after a short results screen.
Playing with friendsâ
Invite people from the Party page. An invite is answered in chat with /paccept or
/pdecline. A party queues together and is kept on the same side in team modes.
For a private match, create a custom lobby from the Arena page. You get a six-character code to hand out, and the lobby host picks the mode, the map and the weapon preset.
Freeroamâ
Freeroam is the practice area, and PvP is live in there. Press F2 for the freeroam menu:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Weapons | Give yourself anything, upgrade what you are holding, or strip your loadout |
| Manage Vehicles | Spawn, delete, max upgrades |
| Teleport | Jump to a location or to another player |
| Respawn, Heal, Parachute | Exactly what they say |
Teleporting to another player asks them first. They answer with /tpa to accept or /tpdeny to
refuse.
Type /leave or /lobby to head back to the lobby.
